The Loutzenhiser Family has been serving area families at their time of need with the utmost respect and dignity for three generations. John R. Loutzenhiser started Loutzenhiser Home for Funerals in 1930, located at 340 Main St. in Greenville. Mr. Loutzenhiser's son John G. "Jack" Loutzenhiser became licensed, and began work beside his father in 1964. In 1977, the younger Loutzenhiser and Arthur J. Jordan formed a partnership, and built a new facility located at 366-368 S. Main St. The modern facility became the new home of the Loutzenhiser-Jordan Colonial Funeral Home. John G. and Arthur J. operated the business together until the unfortunate passing of Mr. Jordan in 1992. John G. Loutzenhiser became the sole owner of the funeral home, and ran the day-to-day operation until his death in 1997. Upon his passing, the ownership was passed on to his widow, Jane A. (Hubbard) Loutzenhiser, who continues to own the funeral home with her son Cris H. Loutzenhiser. Cris became licensed in 1998 and took over the responsibilities of Funeral Supervisor at the time of his licensure.
Loutzenhiser-Jordan Colonial Funeral Home is a member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Mercer County Funeral Directors Association, and a member of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce.
