Daddy, It's been a year now since you passed away, and it still seems like it was only yesterday. We are all still saddened by your passing and today we are having a rememberance celebration by having your favorite meal...Burgers and Milkshakes. We hope you will be enjoying the moment with us from where you are. We all still Miss having you with us, and feel the loss in different ways, so today is just one way of showing you that you are still a special part of all our lives. I worked with Ralph at many locations in Alaska, he was my first supervisor at Cape Lisburne in 1989. Ralph was very instrumental in helping me establish a long lasting career on the Alaska Radar Systems that I continue to work on today. I think about him often and have many fond memories of working with him. I enjoyed his humor and working with him. As I would travel to all the sites he was always a welcomimg face when I would arrive. I enjoyed his company when in the middle of pretty much no where Alaska. I will always remember him and smile when thinking about some of the things that happened while working together. He will be missed but not forgotten..... God bless....

Im one of his grandchildren but feel so far away from my Family when we need each other the most. You all are in my Heart n Prayers. Grandpa... Where do I start? I’m always going to be the odd grandchild. = ) Everyone else calls you “Da”. I know that I haven’t seen you in awhile but now you are in a place where you can see all of us at the same time. I had the pleasure of working with Ralph during a long cold winter on a mountain top at Tin City, Alaska. I remember that Ralph could tell you the wind speed by the amount of action in the water bowl of the toilet. White caps and waves was 50 mph, and emptying all water meant 100 mph. Rest well Ralph, you've earned it. To the Johnson family I offer my sincerest condolences for your loss.

I worked on the Alaska Radar System with Ralph throughout his time on the project, starting with RCA Service Company, through GE Government Services, then Martin Marietta, PMC/Frontec, and finally ARCTEC Alaska. Both as a supervisor and as a technician Ralph was a good man; level headed and knowledgeable, a hard worker and a good friend. We all enjoyed working with Ralph during his years with us and missed him when he retired. I am certain he is in a better place now. Karl

Ralph was a good friend of mine. Please accept my condolences... may his family find Peace with his passing. I met Ralph in Cold Bay AK working for RCA in 1979 and eventually worked with him throughout Alaska. The rumor on the project back in 79' was that Ralph was a "hatchet man"... that he was in Cold Bay to trim off some "dead wood"... ended up being a real nice guy to work for... and nobody was fired! Ralph became one of the gang there in Cold Bay which meant a lot in those early days of the ARS project with a newly organized Union workforce. We all enjoyed his sense of humor... and appreciated his compassion for others. Ralph enjoyed Alaska - Robert Services' "Spell of the Yukon" comes to mind. Better for having known you Ralph. Kevin
