Loutzenhiser-Jordan Online Guestbook for Richard Bennett
Dear David and George: You already know this, certainly more so than I, but your father was a beautiful soul. He was brilliant, kind, wickedly funny, and my favorite teacher of all time. I remember him going home to have dinner and then coming right back to the Academic Center at Thiel to answer any questions we had the night before big exams. He didn't have to do that, but he did because he genuinely cared about us. I graduated in 1975 but we kept in touch all these years. When I would chat with him at Homecoming and other Thiel events, he always asked about my children BY NAME!!! He knew where I was teaching and about any big events in my life. When I registered surprise about how much he knew, he would just give my that sly grin of his and say "I read the Thiel Bell"!! This world has lost a gem, but heaven shines brighter because he's there.
