Nancy: We have many fond memories of Judge Wherry. Margie worked at the Courthouse for many years and through work got to know him quite well. He was always a kind and considerate man. We both enjoyed being a neighbor having lived on Plum Street and our properties joined in the rear. We especially remember him walking "Mr. B" at all hours. He was truly a good person. Mike touched so many lives in a positive way. I was one of them. He was a kind and considerate man. Despite his many achievements in life, Mike was a humble man who treated everyone with respect. He gave so many people encouragement to do their best. I am sad to know that his work on this earth is done. Condolences to Nancy and the family.

Dear Nancy please accept my deepest sympathy. I am blessed to know you both. And, especially thankful for Michael's friendship, mentoring and often daily consult during the time we served in the courthouse. This last Fall we had a wonderful visit while waiting in the dentist office. It was wonderful reminising about those days. He will be missed.

"Uncle Mike" set the gold standard for criminal defense representation and advocacy for the poor and forgotten. As an attorney and Judge,he handled legal matters intelligently, quickly and fairly. The systems he helped put in place for the less fortunate are still in place today. To Nancy, who was his soulmate and best friend;his legacy will not be forgotten by those of us who look up to him as our enlightened mentor.

Michael, after my father, was the most important man in my life. He was my mentor and my friend. Mostly occurring before he was elected to the bench, an unacknowledged divide, the times I spent with he and Nancy were among the most stimulating and enjoyable in my life. Nancy my condolences to you. You are in my prayers.

I want to extend my sincerest condolences to Nancy and all of Judge Wherry's family. His sense of humor and sharp wit will be truly missed! I always enjoyed sitting and talking with him about a variety of subjects including education, religion, marriage, the law, and many other topics while employed under him at the Courthouse. His experiences provided wisdom that touched the human soul and spirit in ways like no other. He was always supportive and did the right thing regardless of those that tried to influence him otherwise. He always seemed to know the right thing to say to turn your day around. Thank you Honorable Michael J. Wherry, you will be greatly missed.
