Loutzenhiser-Jordan Online Guestbook for Irene C. Gedeon

When I think of Irene, I'll always remember her big, warm smile and the blanket of love she draped over those around her. I imagine her strong faith was a comfort to her as she passed from this world, just as it seemed to be in life. Irene, thanks for being such a good soul.

Our deepest sympathy to all those who knew and loved dear Irene. She was one of the most caring women I have ever met. She was the best friend of my mother in law Irene Kendra. She helped take care of her after the passing of my father In law Frank Kendra. She had the biggest heart and was passionate in all she did. During that time, our children thought of her as a second grandma. My heart breaks to think of this terrible accident, but feels peace to know that she is now home with Lord. Rest in peace my love.

John and Lea moved in beside us in the 60's when our children were small. they were great neighbors and I remember them fondly. Irene came to live with her Mom after John died. she took good care of her and remained here until she turned 80. I'm sure you know all this, but I am remembering it now. Irene was so independent deciding it was time to move to the Highrise when she turned 80. When she couldn't drive anymore, I told her to call me anytime she need me to take anywhere. I took her to the doctor, the medicine shoppe, the grocery store and Walmart. I am so glad I could help her out. I know other in our community helped her too. She was so funny she was always teasing my husband and he teased her back. I can't believe she died this way. 89 and gets hit by a car. Bye Irene we loved you honey!!

May God give peace to those of you whose hearts are grieving with her passing. I didn't know Irene well but admired her ever sweet and cheerful way. The world needs more Irene's! I'm sure she inspired more than a few to follow her hope-filled spirit.

It was a joy to know and love Irene and to have her as a member of our Franciscan family. Sorry we cannot be with you at this time because of having surgery in Pittsburgh. Our love and thoughts are with you.

To my dear Aunt who lived in the same building with us and used to make me breakfast almost every morning until I was five. I am sorry that you never married but you did have a happy life and brought much happiness to others--you were always upbeat.
