Loutzenhiser-Jordan Online Guestbook for Donald W. Dart
Dear Friends, I am so sad at the passing of both Phyl and Don! You and they were like family to us for so many years and so many memories I will never forget. Phyl and Don were always there to help iron out the bumps in the road at the McElree house of which there were many. I so looked up to Don and Phyl as the loving couple I always wished my parents were. We have all been through alot together in our growing up and I cherish the memories. Really would like Patty, Jeff, Jay, Susie, Janine and and I to get together sometime soon in Greenville and catch up. Life is so short as we know and would love to catch up with yours. My sadness at the loss of Don and Phyl as I had so much love and respect for each of them and as such a loving couple!! Sincerely, Susie 724-456-5220

Dear Patty, Jay and Family:
We send our deepest condolences and prayers for the passing of your Dad and our Uncle Don. I have the most fond memories when I worked at my first job at Dart Chevrolet...it was a $1/hr job washing windows and later as his Record Argus paper carrier. Uncle Don was always so attentive, supportive and friendly when I was growing up in Greenville. Actually I've been told that out of all of his sister Genevra's boys, that I had his some of his traits and personality...and I really like that!
Take Care.

Jay, Patty and Family, I will always remember your dad as a kind and fun loving family man. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. He left quite a legacy; the video tribute is just beautiful. My mom was lucky to have him as a big brother.

Dear Patty and Jay,
I was saddened to hear about the passing of your Dad. Many of Greenville's icons have passed in recent years and from what I see when I visit, they have not been replaced with men and women of similar vision or dedication. Your Dad was a true icon in the community.
When I think of the Dart family, I have some great memories. Playing Red Rover in the backyards between your house and Mc Climans' house, afternoons in the shed in field above Ed Snyder's house, skateboarding on Plum Street, watching Jay learn to ride a unicycle, and Patty as our "babysitter". Good memories from a great childhood!
You both inherited your Dad's perfect smile and your Mother's gift of not aging. I have fond memories of your family and of each of you. I hope our paths cross again soon under different circumstances.
Sincerely,
Dean A. Walker

I grew up in the '70's hanging around the Dart dealership, as I was totally mesmerized with Chevrolet products. "New Car Introduction Night" at Dart's with my Dad and/or grandfather was a high point of my youth! Don and Paul were always patient with me always checking out the latest offerings, etc. I'd occasionally see Don around Greenville in the past few years and we would speak...he remembered me all those years later, and remembered our family as customers. A few years back at a Historical Society meeting, he showed me photos of the dealership from the early '50's which I thoroughly enjoyed.
A very nice man and a great Greenville leader. I still drive Chevrolets as our daily cars, exclusively, and I've dealt with a good dealer or two over our way, but none had that personal feel as did Dart Chevrolet.
Sympathy to your family.
Best,

Jay, Mr. Paul Dart & Family,
I will miss Don Dart very much. We always enjoyed, or at least I did, haggling over the price of used cars back when I was a teenager. He helped fuel my passion for cars that I could fix up and make a few dollars on, then go back and do it again. By helping me out, I credit him with some of my early success in life. When my Mom passed about a year ago, he came to her calling hours and it was nice to see him. He told me get back into doing what "You know and love." I'm listening to his advice, and will cherish the memories...always!
Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Dear Patty, Jay and family,
Linda and I were so sorry to hear of Uncle Don's passing. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. From my perspective, no greater compliment can be paid than that he was truly a nice guy. I have so many fond memories of Don fom Plum Street, the garage, Conneaut Lake, Pymatuning and many others. But the fondest of all is just the memory of Phyl and Don - a couple in love and truly a great aunt and uncle.
I always enjoyed talking to your Dad. He was enthusiastic and always excited to hear from me as I was to talk to him. One of my last conversations was about a trip he was taking with others up to Conneaut Lake. He was looking forward to pointing out to those on the trip where we all use to spend summer vacation.
Our thoughts are with you. I will miss him.
love,
BILL
